Pancake Day celebration is a traditional Russian custom to celebrate the end of Winter and beginning of Spring. The cheeky Baba Yaga (a Russian witch) came to the Russian school celebration to steel the pancakes. But the children changed her intentions involving her in funny games and competitions, traditional songs and dances, after which all together, with teachers and parents the participants gathered around the table and enjoyed the pancakes with honey, sour cream and even the caviar!
